It’s Red Day

Well, today is Red Day at Keller Williams so Mom and Dad are off working on the Boys and Girls Club in Fayetteville. Painting, weeding, planting, cleaning. Giving back to their community. It seems I’m not much help in the garden. I like to dig, no one else likes when I dig, I love the hose, but then no one likes me in the car. So, I’ll watch the house. I’m great at that.

Keller Williams agents across the country take today to give back to their communities. More than 70,000 people helping other people. Can you imagine if everyone in the world did this?

No dogs allowed, so, I’m home today while they give back to the community. But there is no reason a dog can’t have fun at home. I sure wish I had the guy in this video to hang out with. We could raid our refrigerator.

I have had a lot of fun lately. The grandbabies came to Southern Pines and it sure is lonely without them. They didn’t spend all their time with me. Sometimes they went places. One of those places was Discovery Place in Charlotte, North Carolina. From our house it is only 2 hours away and Courtney said the museum was lots of fun and she wants to go again. It is a hands on science museum. Courtney and Olivia said they touched a starfish and some sea urchins, walked in a tropical rain forest, saw a 3D movie, they even built stuff. They were so tired when they got home that Courtney could barely throw my ball.

It is so nice to have warm weather when Mom and Dad are out in the yard more. They play ball with me a lot but they get busy working in the gardens or mowing the lawn. So, one of the things I like to do is play with my friends that seem to fly and scurry in and out. The butterflies are very pretty. I still haven’t caught up with one but they sure are fun to jump around with while they are here. If you are tired of hitting that little ball around on the grass, check out the Disc Golf at Reservoir Park. This sure looks like a lot of fun. It would be more fun for me if I could chase all those frisbees!

If you haven’t been to recently in Southern Pines you will be happy to see the new exercise equipment Blue Cross and Blue Shield has put along the trail. It has Reservoir Park always been a great park and now it is even better. We now have stretching bars, parallel bars, chin up bars, balance beam, and a jumping bar. It is so much fun! Head on over and see them and if you see me please say hello. I still bark too loud, so I will apologize now, but I’m just so excited to talk to you.

Prescribed Burns in the Sandhills

Forest Fires Can Be Good

I didn’t do it! I know it is bad to play with fire and it sure scares me but around here people start these fires on purpose! They are called prescribed burns and they help the red cockaded woodpeckers and other animals who live around here. When these fires are started to control the burn it actually keeps us safe from a fire that might start from lightning that would rage out of control. So, if you are visiting and smell a wood fire or see lots of smoke don’t worry. It’s a good thing!

Pinehurst Harness Track

Headed for the Finish Line!

Yesterday was a beautiful day and Mom and Dad went to the Pinehurst Harness Track to watch the horses race with their friends. This was the 62nd time Pinehurst has had this race! It was a little warm outside so I stayed home and took a nap. There were 8 races and lots of people there to enjoy it. They were smiling and a little red from the sun but were home in time to watch the back 9 of the Masters. Almost too tired to play with me. The Azaleas Are Beautiful In The Rain

Good Morning World! It is a rainy day here in the Sandhills of North Carolina. And even on a dreary rainy day this is a beautiful place to live. One of my favorite spots on a day like today is on the couch looking out the front window. The flowers are beautiful. Mom said they are azaleas and went outside in the rain to show you what they look like today. Thanks Mom! We have the salmon colored ones like you see in my picture and we also have white, red and dark pink in my yard. It makes you want to be outside all the time but today I will have to see it from the front window since I don’t really like being wet and people say it makes me smell bad. If you know where I live, beep when you go by and I promise to bark back. That drives Mom and Dad crazy. BOL! (Bark Out Loud)

If you really like Azaleas you could go to the Azalea Festival in Wilmington April 6th through the 10th. It’s a little more than 2 hours from here. Something tells me this is one of those times Mom and Dad are going to leave me home. Doggie Drats!

If you are a golfer you better go play today. We are supposed to have rain all weekend. I know on rainy days when I’m in the car I don’t see any of those people waving sticks out in the fields.

Are you looking for somewhere to play? Hyland Golf Club was recently redone with brand new greens and they want you to come out on the Tom Jackson design. I wonder who designed my yard? I should thank them since it is such a great place to play.
